Sysyncly….
Teixera is an awesome hitter, above average fielder.
He’s on the the team that puts their money where their mouth is!
Now all the chips should fall into place for all the other free agents.
Brian Fuentes will NOT sign with the Cardinals.
Adam Dunn will be a Cub.
The Cardinals will sign NOTHING of value and the fans will [...]
Trevor Miller signing…big yawn at this point. Probably an adequete guy as long as he holds up. He’s 35 years old.
Khalil Greene for Mark Worrell and a player to be named later – Probably OK. Outside a poor 2008 he’s a real nice offensive addition (except the strikeouts) and a servicable defender.
What do you think?

Hmmmm.
There are elements thaht I sipport in their analysis, but they fall painfully short in others. He’s the criteria they used. What’s your opinion?
1. Postseason success: Teams were awarded 12 points for winning a World Series, eight for losing a World Series, six for losing a League Championship Series and four for losing a Division [...]
It was announced today that Alert Pujols and Ryan “Trade me while you can” Ludwick were the only two recipiants form the Redbirds of the annual Silver Slugger Award.
What is the Silver Slugger Award you say? In a nutshell, it’s the best offensive player at each defensive position. Or in other words…it’s illrelivant!
I’ve seen [...]
According to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports that’s what’s being shopped right now.
So would you like to chance it with another season of potential production from Ludwick, and Skip and hope Boggs can make the team or would you like to have Matt Holliday “protect” El Hombre?
All day long! It’s the modern day “Brock for Broglio“!
That might be a bit of a stretch, but Matt Holliday is a great Moneyball type player. Even with an “off” 2008 Matt Holliday had a .947 OPS. In 2007, when he finished second to Jimmy Rollins in MVP voting his OPS was 1.012. Now [...]
Would you trade Ryan Ludwick (.299 BA, and 113 RBI’s in 538 AB’s) for Yunel Escobar (.288 BA, and 60 RBI’s in 514 AB’s) ?
You betcha!
Even though Ludwick had an OPS nearly 200 higher than Escobar, I really think that Ludwick had an aberation year. Guys just don’t “get good” at age 30 like Ryan [...]
According to MLB.com Yadier Molina earned his first (well deserved) gold glove.
He’s got skills AND talents!
He follows the great lineage of Cardinals backstops to win a gold glove Tom “Pags” Pagnozzi (91, 92, and 94) and Mike “Hunting Knife” Matheny (00, 03, and 04).
The Chicago Cubs’ humiliating postseason collapse was not the result of shaky pitching, nonexistent hitting or an infield as porous as Missouri limestone.
Rather, the club’s demise was preordained at a Tennessee tattoo parlor some 600 miles from Wrigley Field. That’s where lifelong fan Jimmy Burroughs got the Cubs logo etched onto his right shoulder blade. [...]
Listening to 5ft. 4in. Fernando “Swinga” Vina telling his ESPN colleague “that he came up a little short in getting to the World Series.” But he’s a MVP when it comes to sculpting and crafting that facial hair!
Que es mas machco? Fernando Vina e Lorenzo Llamas?
Dude creeps me out. Besides he was a whiner with [...]
